Why study Bachelor of Multimedia and Digital Arts?

This is a broad-based degree for students looking to pursue studies in digital arts and multimedia practices. Students study a combination of multimedia and digital studios, as well as units in theory, drawing, professional practice and a choice of electives. There is the choice of majoring in either multimedia design or digital arts.

Students can expect to develop skills in project planning, concept formation, problem solving, project development and communication, as well as an understanding of the aesthetic aspects of multimedia and digital arts.

Career opportunities

Career opportunities include employment in new media art or multimedia, advertising and graphic design industries in web design, computer animation, interface design, game and virtual reality design, digital imaging, illustration, motion graphics or digital video production.

VCE prerequisites

Units 3 and 4-a study score of at least 30 in English (ESL) or 25 in any other English and a study score of at least 30 in one of art, studio arts or visual communication and design.

International Baccalaureate subject prerequisites

  • A score of at least 4 in English SL or 3 in English HL or 5 in English B SL or 4 in English B HL, and
  • A score of at least 5 in visual arts SL or 4 in visual arts HL.
