Why study Master of Multimedia?

This course is offered jointly through the Faculty of Art & Design and the Faculty of Information Technology. No art or design background is required for enrolment in this program. The course attracts people from a broad cross-section - educators, lawyers, marketers, consultants and business people alike. The program offers an opportunity to 'future-proof' their careers by extending their skill-base. With an emphasis on group work, the Master of Multimedia mirrors the real-world where multimedia development calls for input from people with wide-ranging strengths, working together in multi-disciplinary teams. The units are a blend of studio practice and lectures. Coursework units, taken over three semesters, cover the areas of multimedia imaging, graphic design, multimedia tools, developing multimedia systems, issues for multimedia practice, and multimedia interfaces. Students also choose two electives that support their chosen field of specialisation. Elective units are chosen from the faculties of Art and Design or Information Technology, or from another faculty, subject to approval. Entry and exit points: All students enrol in the Master of Multimedia, but can choose to exit the course after one or two semesters of full-time study. After successfully completing one semester's study, students can exit with a graduate certificate, or after completing two semesters they may exit with a graduate diploma.
