Accreditation

Australian: After completing the Pharmacy component of the double degree, students must complete a one-year program of professional development and practical training under the supervision of the Pharmacy Board of Victoria.

The training concludes with a final registration examination that permits the graduate to practise pharmacy in any state in Australia. International students are able to undertake internship (pre-registration) training in Australia and are advised to seek formal advice on visa requirements from DIMIA. After a period of practical experience, students are eligible to become associates of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute.

The Bachelor of Pharmacy/Bachelor of Commerce double degree is recognised by both Certified Practising Accountants (CPA) Australia and The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia as meeting academic requirements for membership. This is also true for senior associate membership of the Australasian Institute of Banking and Finance. It also meets the requirements of the Pharmacy Board of Victoria. For all professional bodies membership depends on the correct choice of units by the student.

See the Faculty of Business and Economics for more information on the Bachelor of Commerce.
