Master of Information Technology for 2010

Course overview

This is a broad, flexible technical information technology masters degree. Students may select one or more specialisations from: Data management, Digital communication, Distributed and mobile systems, Intelligent Systems, Internet and web application development, Multimedia systems, Network Computing, Security, and Software engineering. The program provides the framework within which students can appreciate and integrate new software and hardware technologies and extend their theoretical knowledge in specific areas of interest in the industry.

Students may exit the program after completing four specific units with a Postgraduate Certificate in Information Technology, or after completing eight specific units with a Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology.

Career outlook

Graduates of the MIT will have the knowledge and skills to solve complex social, economic and technical problems within the context of information technology. Students will develop deep theoretical and practical knowledge in specific areas so that they will have the intellectual and conceptual foundation to play leading roles in the development of the information technology industry.
