The diploma is an undergraduate course for students who are enrolled in a Monash undergraduate degree where psychology cannot normally be taken. Students take the 10 units of psychology (nine core and one elective unit), which comprises the three-year major sequence in psychology accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council.
Graduates must complete further study and training for a career in psychology. Psychologists work in many fields including private practice; in clinical, child, counselling, organisational and health psychology; and in research and teaching.
