The degree equips students with an understanding of the role of science and communication in society and how it increasingly interacts as scientists are required to communicate their work to the wider community, including funding bodies and industry.
For the arts component, students complete a communication major, an arts minor, and a specialisation chosen from journalism, marketing, management, writing or business computing.
The science component includes a major and minor, two science core units and additional science electives in biology, chemistry, environmental and resource management, human physiology, applied statistics, mathematics and computing.
Graduates with skills in both science and communication are in demand in areas including journalism and science writing, other media-related occupations and multimedia.
