Career opportunities

A degree in the visual and media arts can lead to a career in studio practice, arts law, teaching, curating and arts management, as well as roles in museums, galleries, community arts programs, art and design consultancies or conservation organisations

Entry requirements

Minimum entrance requirements

Equivalent Australian Year 12.

Please note: Bachelor of Visual Arts (Gippsland) has a different entry requirement from the Caulfield equivalent, but has a smaller choice of studio specialisations.

VCE prerequisites

Units 3 and 4-a study score of at least 30 in English (ESL) or 25 in any other English.

International Baccalaureate subject prerequisites

  • A score of at least 4 in English SL or 3 in English HL or 5 in English B SL or 4 in English B HL.

VTAC APPLICANTS:

Interview: Applicants must telephone (03) 5122 6261 or (03) 9902 6261 to book, by 30 September. Details will be sent to applicants by 7 November. Applicants must attend in November. Advisory letters will be sent to applicants by 12 December.

DIRECT APPLICANTS

International Applicants: All applicants must submit a folio of 10-15 images of their work for assessment. Please refer to the Faculty of Art & Design website for further information.

Local Applicants: All applicants must apply though VTAC. Please see the above information for details.
