Minimum entrance requirements

Audition and Interview: Students intending to specialise in composition are required to submit up to three compositions that show the range and proficiency of their work, accompanied by a declaration that they are entirely their own work. Students intending to specialise in performance should prepare for audition two pieces of music drawn from a varied repertoire, for example a work from the classical period, a work from the Romantic period, or work written in the 20th century. Non-pianists must provide their own accompanists. If students cannot attend an audition in person, video taped auditions are acceptable. VCE prerequisites

Units 1 and 2-two units (any) study combination of general mathematics or mathematical methods (CAS) or Units 3 and 4-mathematics (any). Units 3 and 4-a study score of at least 30 in English (ESL) or 25 in any other English.

International Baccalaureate subject prerequisites

  • A score of at least 4 in English SL or 3 in English HL or 5 in English B SL or 4 in English B HL, and
  • A score of at least 3 in any mathematics subject.

VTAC Non Year 12 applicants only: Complete and submit a VTAC Pi form detailing relevant work experience, community involvement and evidence of how you have fulfilled the equivalent of the listed Mathematics prerequisite units.
