Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Sciences - Community Mental Health for 2009

Course overview

This course is intended for health care professionals working within the mental health and psychiatric disability fields who wish to upgrade and develop their knowledge and skills in contemporary community mental health practice.

It comprises four core units and four electives. Core studies cover clinical practice essentials, the context for mental health practice, concepts in mental health and illness, and issues for mental health practice. Electives are chosen from studies including mental health of the elderly, developmental mental health (child and adolescence), transcultural mental health, mental health in rural settings, dual disabilities, advanced psychological interventions, and primary mental health practice.
