Course overview

The combined course allows students to gain a recognised welfare qualification while exploring the breadth of studies offered through the arts degree.

Students complete a sequence in social welfare and choose a major and a minor from arts. Arts majors include Australian Indigenous studies, behavioural studies, history-politics, Indonesian, communications, psychology, sociology and writing. Minors can be taken in any of the majors, or in Australian studies, community studies or journalism.

Career outlook

Graduates are able to pursue careers in social and community services, counselling, social welfare and social research and administration, or may use the skills gained through their other arts component to pursue a career in a related field.
