The degree offers students broad skills in the analysis of social welfare policy and practice, and the ability to understand and use media and information technology in the community and in publishing and publicity.
Students complete a structured sequence in social welfare along with a journalism major and an arts minor. The course encourages a comparative journalism approach and knowledge of a second language. Final-year students have the opportunity to take work experience overseas.
Graduates work in promotions, lobbying, government departments, public relations and journalism within the public and private sectors.
