A recognised degree or equivalent diploma from disciplines that qualify for two single teaching specialism subjects (teaching areas) or an approved double specialism. This course is available to bachelor degree holders from disciplines that enable them to qualify for two single teaching methods or one double method. Eligibility for methods usually requires a background of study of at least two years in the discipline. A double method requires at least three years of study in the discipline. Information about requirements for specific methods is available from the Admissions and Student Services Office (Clayton) or can be downloaded from www.education.monash.edu.au/units/secondary-specialisms.html.Applicants who do not meet the English language requirement may fulfil this requirement with a score of 7.0 in the IELTS (Academic) test, with a minimum of 7.0 in speaking and writing, and 6.5 in reading and listening. For the ESL and English methods however, applicants must gain no less than 7.0 in any individual band. Alternatively, applicants may meet the English language requirement with an internet-based TOEFL result of 100 with a minimum of 25 in speaking and writing, and a minimum of 22 in reading and listening. Test scores must not be more than two years old.
