The degree provides students with an understanding of psychology and an appreciation of the role it plays in society, in combination with studies in humanities and social sciences.
Students complete a major in psychology (studied through off-campus learning) and an arts major chosen from history-politics, Indonesian, Australian Indigenous studies, communications, sociology or writing.
Students who wish to gain full registration in Australia as a psychologist must complete a fourth year and masters programs in psychology. (The Diploma of Psychology is the equivalent of an undergraduate major in psychology.)
Depending on the humanities major chosen, graduates can work in fields such as counselling, psychology, journalism, editing, writing, human resources, management and administration, and social and community services.
