Course overview
This course is designed to enable graduates in politics or related disciplines to explore the many issues raised by the rapidly changing nature of the contemporary international system. Students complete two core units and two electives chosen from areas including wars of recognition, terrorism and political violence, fringe politics and extremist violence, political Islam, culture, norms and ideas in international politics, and strategic studies. It is particularly suitable for those interested in pursuing careers in areas such as government, diplomacy, business, teaching and journalism. Students wishing to continue on to the research masters program must include the research project in politics as one of their electives.
