Graduates from this double degree will have a diverse range of career options, with an emphasis on management opportunities. Our graduates work all over the world. They work in middle and upper-management positions in communications, banking, marketing, logistics, retail and human resources. They work for the government and major corporations. The range of career options depends on the subjects chosen but, given we offer open electives and majors in marketing and management, graduates will be able to explore many career paths.
Examples of roles that graduates can pursue include management trainee for a large retail chain or finance company, operations manager in a logistics firm, accountant for a corporation or small business, human resources officer for a small-to-medium enterprise, business analyst in a bank or consulting firm, economic advisor to a government minister, financial advisor for individuals, or insurance broker for a major provider.
A Bachelor of Business (Management) and Bachelor of Business (Marketing) allows graduates to satisfy the educational requirements of various professional registrations and memberships. Management and marketing professionals are responsible for the identity of a business or organisation, and how it relates to its customers. This double degree aims to give you high-level skills in a range of key business disciplines, with an emphasis on developing your management and marketing skills.
Whether you want to lead a small team, a department, or a large company, our double degree program will give you a head start. You will get world-class training in researching, planning and delivering a marketing strategy, and you'll develop an understanding of contemporary management issues. Four of our marketing students, won the Microsoft Protege 2011 grand final with their Integrated Marketing Communications strategy for the Windows Phone 7.
Our degree offers core units that introduce you to the key principles of business, and you will further consolidate your skills with specialisations in management and marketing. You have a choice of eight open electives in Faculty of Business and Economics programs, or other faculty disciplines. The Department of Marketing also runs international study tours, where you have the opportunity to meet the top accounting executives of leading organisations, including KPMG, L'Oreal, Intel, Google, Nike, Zara, General Motors, Disney, Swiss and National Bank.
Our course consists of six core business units, a 10-unit major in management, a 10-unit major in marketing, and eight open electives.

Identifying and satisfying customer needs profitably form the basis of marketing. It includes creating, communicating, delivering and exchanging goods and services that have value to potential customers and, often, building strong relationships between an organisation and its customers. It can include market research, product development and communication strategies as well as product delivery logistics.
