Career opportunities

The Honours degree provides students with a recognised pathway to a higher degree by research. Graduates may also work in clinical positions requiring identification of evidence based practice and leadership in practice change such as project leaders, coordinators and research assistants.

Entry requirements

English requirements for international students

Satisfactory completion of a sufficient period of study, at a sufficiently advanced level, in an English-medium institution, or substantial English-medium school or department within a larger institution. The applicant must have completed satisfactorily the equivalent of 48 Monash University credit points (a standard full-time year) either

of study in a university undergraduate award program or

study in a TAFE or VET diploma program, or

study in a program that has been assessed as being taught at an equivalent in level to Monash University undergraduate study.

Gaining the required result in one of the following tests of English language:

a minimum overall IELTS test score of at least 7.0 with individual band scores required at 6.5 for Reading, 6.5 for Listening, 6.0 for Writing and 6.0 for Speaking.

a TOEFL minimum test score of either:

in the written TOEFL, 580 with a Test of Written English (TWE) score of at least 4.5

in the internet-based TOEFL, an overall score of at least 90 with at least 22 in the written section, and no less than 20 in any section

Enrolment obligation

International students enrolling in a CRICOS-registered course can study no more than 25% of their course by distance and/or online learning. Students cannot enrol exclusively in distance and/or online learning study in any compulsory study period. See standard 9.4 of The National Code 2007.
