We attract individuals like Paul Grabowsky, the esteemed Australian pianist, jazz musician, conductor and composer, who has taken up a Vice-Chancellor's Professorial Fellowship in the School of Music from 2012. You'll receive one-on-one instrumental teaching to develop your solo and ensemble performance skills, and you'll have a number of opportunities to study overseas. For example, jazz and popular studies students travel to Italy and New York in alternate years to study and perform with world-renowned musicians such as James Morrison, Claire Bowditch, Don Burrows, Vince Jones, George Garzoni and Aaron Goldberg.

The School of Business and Economics, where you will be studying your commerce degree, has global connections that would astound you. From the US to Europe and Asia, we have a range of formidable partnerships with organisations like Peking University in China and the University of Navarra in Spain.

Equivalent Australian Year 12 and Audition/Composition submission.

VCE prerequisites

Units 3 and 4-a study score of at least 30 in English (ESL) or 25 in any other English, and a study score of at least 25 in one of mathematical methods (CAS) or specialist mathematics. Please note that a minimum ATAR of 80.00 is required for admission to this course.

International Baccalaureate subject prerequisites

  • IB score of at least 29
  • A score of at least 4 in English SL or 3 in English HL or 5 in English B SL or 4 in English B HL, and
  • A score of at least 4 in mathematics SL or 3 in mathematics HL or 4 in further mathematics SL

This course currently doesn't have places available for mid-year entry.

Enrolment obligation

International students enrolling in a CRICOS-registered course can study no more than 25% of their course by distance and/or online learning. Students cannot enrol exclusively in distance and/or online learning study in any compulsory study period. See standard 9.4 of The National Code 2007.
