Course overview
The Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences and Faculty of Law recognise that the growing area of medical law requires graduates with training in both fields. Students study law units while undertaking their medical studies. To gain entry, applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents and have successfully completed the first year of the Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery course. Monash is the only university in Australia that offers this combined degree.

Career outlook
Graduates can pursue all the options open to both medicine/surgery and law graduates, but they may also take up specialist careers in areas of medico-legal matters, forensic medicine and other related areas.
