Our nursing degree creates local, national and international opportunities in a range of health service areas, such as acute hospital care, mental health, rehabilitation, aged care, community-based care and rural and remote services.
It also provides an excellent foundation for further education and practice in specialist areas of acute medical/surgical nursing, emergency nursing, intensive care, midwifery, paediatrics, peri-operative, mental health, palliative care, oncology, wound care and other areas.
You may also find opportunities in education, management and research.
Graduates are eligible to become registered nurses with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
Monash nursing graduates are among the most sought after in the world because of our teaching quality and links to world-class medical researchers and major teaching hospitals.
Offered on a full-time or part-time basis at our Clayton or Peninsula campus, this course provides a broad foundation for general nursing practice and opportunities for future specialisations.
You will develop valuable skills in clinical reasoning, client care, communication, judgement and research in a course that offers extensive clinical experience through a variety of local and international health agencies.
Nurses are valued worldwide, and we have successful student exchange programs in Sweden and the UK to give you the chance to gain international clinical experience.
Our graduates include Andrew Cameron, recipient of the Florence Nightingale Medal, the world's highest nursing honour, who has been with the Red Cross in Afghanistan, and Carlene Hurst, awarded for her work in community mental health.
Join them to open up a lifetime of opportunities, experiences and rewards.
