Graduates from this double degree will have a diverse range of career options, particularly marketing opportunities. Our graduates work all over the world. They work in communications, advertising, marketing, media, insurance and banking. They work for the government, advertising agencies and themselves.

The range of career options depends on the subjects chosen, but you will be able to explore several career paths, given we offer a marketing specialisation and studies in a range of other disciplines.

Examples of roles that you can pursue include marketing consultant for a small-to-medium enterprise, copywriter for an advertising agency, communications advisor for a government department, self-employed accountant, politics or history researcher at a university or entrepreneur running your own business.

Entry requirements

International entry requirements

2013 international qualification entry requirements and scores for this course are available from the Undergraduate Qualifications Database.

Equivalent Australian Year 12. Please note English proficiency requirements must be met.

VCE prerequisites

Units 3 and 4-a study score of at least 30 in English (ESL) or 25 in any other English, and a study score of at least 25 in mathematics (any).

International Baccalaureate subject prerequisites

  • A score of at least 4 in English SL or 3 in English HL or 5 in English B SL or 4 in English B HL, and
  • A score of at least 4 in mathematics SL or 4 in further mathematics SL, mathematical studies SL or 3 in mathematics HL.

English requirements for international students

IELTS 6.5 overall with a minimum of 6.0 in Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking; or TOEFL 580 with a TWE of 4.5; or a computer-based TOEFL 237 with an Essay Rating (ER) of 5; or an Internet-based TOEFL score of 90 with 22 in Writing and no section lower than 20

Enrolment obligation

International students enrolling in a CRICOS-registered course can study no more than 25% of their course by distance and/or online learning. Students cannot enrol exclusively in distance and/or online learning study in any compulsory study period. See standard 9.4 of The National Code 2007.
