This course has been accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) as meeting the standard of knowledge for associate-level membership.
The Graduate Diploma in Information Technology prepares students who have a first degree in another discipline for a professional career in information technology. The first part of the course provides a solid knowledge of the fundamentals in computer systems, programming, information systems and applications of information technology in businesses. The second part develops students' understanding of information technology in significant depth.
Students may exit the program after completing four specific units, with the Graduate Certificate in Information Technology.

The normal entry requirement is successful completion of a degree that is the equivalent of an Australian bachelors degree, not necessarily in an IT-related discipline, with at least a pass (50%) average. Candidates without formal tertiary qualifications can apply to enter via a pathway from the Professional Certificate in Information Technology or the Executive Certificate in Information Technology (with at least a credit (60%) average), which are intended to lead to either a graduate or to a postgraduate diploma.
National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition (AEI-NOOSR) guidelines on equivalency to Australian bachelor degrees will apply.
