Course overview
This course provides initial teacher training for graduates who wish to specialise in primary education for children from five to 12 years. The program provides both theoretical and practical knowledge of best practice in primary teaching. It also develops an understanding of the ethical requirements of primary teachers and the practical application of these requirements. Students complete the 10 core units and a minimum of 45 days of satisfactory field placements, depending on their undergraduate qualification. Completion of the course will qualify students for registration as a primary teacher with the Victorian Institute of Teaching. For registration in other Australian states or overseas, please check with local authorities.
