Why study Bachelor of Accounting?

The course is a specialised accounting degree aimed at high-achieving Year 12 students. It is an accelerated course that offers substantial industry-based learning and offers all students industry-sponsored scholarships worth $8000 per annum in their second and third years of study. The program combines on-campus study with industry-based learning. Participants complete two separate placements in industry, of 14 and 12 weeks respectively, for a total of 6 months industry-based learning in the second and third years of their degree.

Career opportunities

Graduates can pursue positions as administrators, financial managers, financial accountants, management accountants, public accountants and managers. Employment opportunities may be found in private enterprise with large companies, consulting firms, multinational companies and financial institutions, as well as in government and not-for-profit organisations.

Admissions information for domestic students

Entry requirements

VCE prerequisites

Units 3 and 4-a study score of at least 30 in English (ESL) or 25 in any other English, and a study score of at least 25 in mathematical methods (CAS) or specialist mathematics.

International Baccalaureate subject prerequisites

  • A score of at least 4 in English SL or 3 in English HL or 5 in English B SL or 4 in English B HL, and
  • A score of at least 4 in mathematics SL or 3 in mathematics HL or 4 in further mathematics SL.

VICTORIAN TERTIARY ADMISSIONS CENTRE APPLICATIONS

All applicants must complete the Accounting Supplementary Information form (to obtain, telephone (03) 9905 8130) and return it as outlined in the VTAC Guide. Those short-listed for an interview in January will be notified by mail in mid-December. Late applicants/Change of Preference must first telephone (03) 9905 8130. Those who do not meet these requirements will not be considered for selection.
