Why study Graduate Diploma in Occupational and Environmental Health?

This course, offered by the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, gives health professional the attitudes, skills and knowledge necessary to provide preventive health services to reduce the health impact of disease and injury resulting from workplace and community factors. The course comprises of eight core units: introduction to occupational health & safety, chemical & biological hazards, psychosocial work environment, safety management systems, assessment & control of workplace hazards, environmental influences on health, introductory epidemiology, ergonomic & physical hazards. The course caters for the special needs of medical practitioners, nurses, allied health personnel, scientists and OHS managers. The course articulates with the Master of Occupational and Environmental Health or can lead to the Master of Public Health. Students are required to complete compulsory block requirements each semester.

English requirements for international students

Gaining the required result in one of the following tests of English language:

IELTS score of 7.0 with no individual band score less than 6.5.

A TOEFL minimum test score of either:

in the written TOEFL, 600 with a Test of Written English (TWE) score of at least 5.0; or

in the internet-based TOEFL, an overall score of at least 100 with at least 24 in the written section and no less than 20 in any other section.
