Course overview

The practical and professional focus of this double degree produces highly capable lawyers and scientists with increased job opportunities. This program provides practical legal skills and an awareness of the complex interaction between science and society. The Monash law degree will teach you the concepts, procedures and reasoning surrounding the Australian legal system, as well as a range of universal skills such as problem solving, presentation techniques and analytical skills. You will undertake a number of compulsory units including criminal law, administrative law, property law and torts and also choose several elective units allowing you to focus on a specific area of law, or undertake units from different legal disciplines so you can gain a broad understanding of issues across the legal spectrum.The science degree can be tailored to meet individual interests and enables you to choose units that relate to your law degree or intended career.Science study areas include astronomy and astrophysics, marine biology, chemistry, earth sciences, pharmacology, physiology and immunology.
