Course overview

The Master of Laws (LLM) offers maximum flexibility and choice, with a broad range of units available, enabling you to individually tailor your masters degree to suit your interests and professional needs. The Monash LLM is ideal for law graduates who want to develop in-depth knowledge of a particular legal area or those wanting to advance their professional expertise in a current area of practice. You will investigate contemporary legal issues from both international and local perspectives and develop your legal research and writing skills. Principal areas of study include: banking and finance law; commercial law; competition law; copyright and trademark law; dispute resolution; eLaw; ethics; government law; human rights law; intellectual property law; international and comparative law; privacy law; regulation law; tribunal procedures; and workplace and employment law. This course may be completed by undertaking eight coursework units or a combination of coursework and a minor research thesis.

Overall IELTS of 7.0; with Reading 6.5, Listening 6.5, Writing 6.5 and Speaking 6.5

Paper-based TOEFL 600 (TWE of 4.5); or a Computer-based TOEFL 250 (ER of 5.0) or Internet-based TOEFL Overall: 100 (with Writing 24+, and no other section lower than 20).
