Master of Social Work for 2009

Course overview

This course enables human service and welfare professionals to develop their professional skills and knowledge and to make links between practice in the field and academic theory. It is particularly suitable for managers, policy developers, supervisors, social workers and others involved in direct work with clients.

Students can choose to specialise in management and policy development or in social work practice with clients.

Studies offered include advanced casework practice; criminology and social work; social service organisations, their behaviour and management; policy, program planning and evaluation; child abuse, child protection and child in society; social work research; management of human resources in the social services; health and social work; globalisation and the politics of welfare; social work and aged care; and social workers, politics and social action.
