How to apply - postgraduate for domestic (Australian) students

Find out if you are a domestic student.

On campus

To apply to study on campus, you need to first read through the step-by-step guide, as this outlines how to use the applicant portal and provides links to the other important web-pages you will need to access in order to find out about:

  • the courses you are interested in studying
  • the specific entry requirements for each course
  • the documentation you will need to provide with your application.

When you have read through the step-by-step guide and have all your paperwork ready to be uploaded to the applicant portal, you can complete an online application.
Note: Graduate Diploma of Education applicants need to apply through VTAC. For more information, see How to apply for a Graduate Diploma of Education.

Online and distance study (off campus)

To apply to study online or by distance first read through the step-by-step guide, then complete an online application. For more information about studying off-campus, see online, distance and part time study.

Internet connection trouble

Online applications are able to be processed more swiftly than applications received by mail or email.  However, if you are experiencing internet connection problems when applying online, you can download a postgraduate application form (pdf, 136kb) and send it by mail or email with the relevant documentation.

Research courses

For research courses, you can apply at any time of the year. However, for research courses that have a coursework component, you apply at the beginning of the year or mid-year (depending on the course).
Visit the Monash Research Graduate School website for more information.
