Minimum entrance requirements

You must be able to meet the University's minimum entrance requirements to gain entry to your chosen course.

Course specific entry requirements

To gain entry to Monash University, you must also meet entry requirements for your chosen course. You can find these course specific requirements in Monash Course Finder.

International Baccalaureate and year 12 students outside Victoria

Use VTAC's conversion tables to compare International Baccalaureate (IB) and interstate Year 12 scores to determine your eligibility to apply. You can also compare prerequisite subjects.

What if I do not meet the entry requirements?

If you do not meet the academic requirements of your course, find out about alternative pathways to Monash University.

Transferring from another university

If you are applying to transfer from another university to Monash, you still need to meet minimum entrance requirements and apply through VTAC.

Age requirements

You must be at least 17 years old at the time of enrolment, unless you satisfy any of following criteria:

• You will be 16 years old at the time of enrolment and have achieved a VCE ATAR of at least 95 (or the equivalent).
• You will be 16 years old at the time of enrolment and you have the approval of the Dean of the faculty.
• You are not yet 16 years old, but you have achieved an ATAR of at least 95 (or the equivalent) and you have the approval of the Dean of the faculty.

What if I don't meet the age requirements?

If you do not meet the age requirements (and would otherwise have been offered a place), we will offer you a deferred place. You can take up your deferred place when you meet the age requirement. Some exceptions apply. Contact your faculty for more information.
