Facilities

All accommodation is heated and comes with a fully equipped kitchen, common area/lounge room,      toilet(s), bathroom(s) and laundry. Lockable food cupboards are provided for every resident as well as ample storage space for larger items. Utensils such as pots and pans, woks, rice cookers, frying pans, toasters, mixing bowls, kettles, iron & ironing board, mops, brooms, buckets and a vacuum cleaner are provided for every house and unit on campus. Residents will only need to bring their own cutlery, crockery and linen.

Each student's bedroom comes complete with desk, bookshelves, chair, built-in-wardrobe, mattress, mattress protector, doona, doona cover, pillow and pillow protector. Students who live in West House accommodation have a built in light over their desks while those in South and North Unit accommodation may choose to bring their own desk light.

Each house or unit has free washing machine and drier facilities and a telephone system that operates through the use of a variety of products (e.g. pre-paid cards). The telephone system also allows free calls to be made between any unit/house on campus, and to a host of University and community services.       Inter-campus dialling can also be made at no cost to the caller.

Gippsland Campus has a system of lockable mail boxes for every house and unit on campus. Every student has a key to his/her mail box and can access mail during business hours.

Each Student bedroom has its own telephone connection point, as well as high speed Internet connection point. This network service operates at speeds of up to 100 Megabytes per second via the Monash University Cable link, and is far superior to any currently available off campus service in the district.

Gippsland Residential has a tennis court and basketball court on campus, as well as two recreation halls containing pool tables, table tennis and television and video.

Within walking distance of residences is the leisure centre, which provides student rates/packages for its pool, gym, squash and netball/basketball courts.

In addition residents have access to the Monash and Churchill golf course. This is a nine hole course located on campus and concessional rates are available for students.
