Studying overseas is easy with Monash

Studying overseas with us is really easy – because you’re already part of the Monash family.

Which means you’re a part of a global university with campuses all around the world – in Australia, Malaysia and South Africa – so it’s easy to team your study at one of the best unis in the world (we’re ranked 99th by Times Higher Education) with an African safari, learning to surf at Bells Beach; the birthplace of iconic brands Rip Curl and Quiksilver, or exploring exotic Southeast Asian destinations, like Angkor Wat, during your semester holidays. Life at Monash

Home to five of Monash’s six campuses (the Gippsland campus is in regional Victoria), Melbourne is consistently named one of the world’s most liveable cities, and has also been commended in the first ever QS Best Student Cities survey as Australia’s best city for students.

Monash South Africa is in Ruimsig, in the province of Gauteng, 25 kilometres northwest of the Johannesburg city centre. Monash South Africa marries a strong commitment to community engagement, volunteering and excellence in water research with a wild and exciting setting – your time here could be spent exploring game reserves, teaching maths to local school children or helping to address Africa’s water management challenges one drop at a time.

Sunway was Monash University's first international campus. Located 18 kilometres from the bustling centre of Kuala Lumpur, the campus has more than 5000 students. Sunway has a vibrant, global atmosphere – about one quarter of the student body is international.

How does intercampus exchange work?

Because you’re already a Monash student, travelling to an international Monash campus is the easiest way to see the world.

As part of the program you’ll:

  • remain enrolled at your home Monash campus and receive credit for your overseas study towards your Monash degree

  • pay your normal fees at your home Monash campus.

What can I study?

As you would already know, Monash is all about choice. We offer more than 6000 units (subjects) across our eight campuses. You could study the aeronautics of Seahawk helicopters, Japanese linguistics, Australian Indigenous art and design, the economics of climate change, or the challenges of child and youth development in third-world countries.

How much will it cost?

Contrary to popular belief, studying abroad won’t cost the earth. You won’t pay any additional tuition fees to study overseas on an intercampus exchange – you just continue to pay your normal fees at your home Monash campus.
