Monash Abroad travel grantsMost students who are accepted on an short term International Study Program receive a Monash Abroad travel grantMost students receive travel grants ranging from $500 - $2,500 depending on the length of the program and the amount of study undertaken overseas - see the table below. Students from Monash Malaysia receive no travel grant for short term study programs in Australia but the normal grant for all other destinations. Exceptions A small number of students who go on international study programs are not eligible for Monash Abroad travel grants, usually because they are receiving other financial assistance. The exceptions include:
Students who receive OS-HELP loans or Centrelink payments are still eligible for the normal Monash Abroad travel grant. Volunteering From 2010 students who do semester length international study programs worth 18 or 24 credit points are encouraged to undertake volunteer work. Payment of grants Once your grant is approved we will pay it into your Australian bank account, usually about 4 weeks before your overseas program commences. If you are an off-shore student, we will arrange payment into your local bank account.
