The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Australia (TECO) offers scholarships to Australian students to study either Mandarin language or general courses in Taiwan at undergraduate or postgraduate level. The scholarships are valued at about $A1,000 per month.
To qualify, applicants must submit academic records of outstanding performance. Overseas Chinese and ROC nationals are not eligible, nor are recipients of scholarships from other ROC government agencies or institutions in Taiwan.
Monash does not have any exchange partner universities in Taiwan but students who are prepared to arrange their own admission to a Taiwanese university, and pay the fees, may apply for these scholarships and also receive support from Monash.
