Endeavour grantsUniversity Mobility in the Asia Pacific (UMAP) grantsUMAP grants are provided by the Commonwealth Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR). Students do not receive the Monash Abroad travel grant as well.
UMAP grant universitiesFor students who apply to study overseas in 2010 we will have UMAP grants available for exchanges to the following universities:
EligibilityTo be eligible for a UMAP grant you must be:
How to applyAll you have to do is apply to go to one of these universities on exchange. No separate UMAP application is necessary because we automatically consider for a UMAP grant all students accepted for these exchanges. If there are not enough grants to go around, UMAP grants are awarded on the basis of academic merit. UMAP grants are normally awarded as soon as all exchange students have received offers from the UMAP partner universities. All students who applied for these exchanges will be notified of the outcome. Students going on exchange are eligible to receive only one UMAP grant, whether they go for 1 or 2 semesters. Cheung Kong grantsCheung Kong grants are provided jointly by DEEWR and the Cheung Kong group of companies, based in Hong Kong and with significant investments in Australia. Grant funds are provided each year to Monash for exchange students going to partner universities in specified countries in the Asian Pacific region and coming to Monash from those same universities. Students do not receive the Monash Abroad travel grant as well.
