Centre for Health EconomicsThe Centre for Health Economics (CHE), Faculty of Business and Economics, has been at the forefront of health economics teaching and research in CHE’s achievements include pioneering work on the measurement of social values and health-related quality of life (the Assessment of Quality of Life (AQoL), a major role in the development of policy and practice of economic evaluation of health services through work with the Australian Pharmaceutical Benefits and Medical Services Advisory Committees; and development of alternative models of health system financing such as disease-based priority setting models. CHE is training the next generation of health economists having developed health economics teaching courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
