The School of Chemistry at Monash is one of the best performing Schools of Chemistry in the country. It continually ranks in the top two through yearly Go8 benchmarking exercises and has recently been ranked 64th in the world through the Shanghai Jiao Tong World University rankings the highest by any Australian University.

Our School of Chemistry accepts a commitment of excellence, by world standards, in education, training, research and community service in chemistry and molecular sciences. To realise this vision, the School will pursue the study of Chemistry as a modern, exciting and stimulating field of study that impinges on all aspects of science, technology and society through the fundamental understandings of materials and change that it provides.

Chemistry areas of study and sequences

We offer a broad range of undergraduate chemistry units and sequences for students undertaking the Bachelor of Science and related courses taught by the faculties of Science, Arts, Information Technology, and Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences. Chemistry major or minor sequences are offered in the following areas of study.
