NEWSFLASH

Jian Yen has recently started his PhD as the 2012 Sir James McNeill Postgraduate Research Scholarship holder - a highly prestigious scholarship only one of which is available across the university.

Jian will work with Ralph Mac Nally and Jim Thomson (ACB) and Associate Professor David Paganin in the School of Physics. Jian will be a tremendous asset to the ACB and the School of Biological Sciences.

The ACBs Sally Hladyz (et al.) has recently had a paper published in Science:

Continental-scale effects of nutrient pollution on stream ecosystem functioning.

The study uses leaf litter breakdown rates to measure river ecosystem health.
