Target group:

Research adminstrative staff at school/departmental or faculty level who are required to enter research publications data for their work unit.

Group size:Maximum 12
Level 1 program:
  • Familiar with the use of Windows operating system
  • Data entry experience is recommended, but not mandatory
  • A ResearchMaster (RM) RMENET Training database account is required prior to attending the session

Overview

The focus of this workshop is to provide new users of the ResearchMaster (RM) Database's RMENET Web Application with the skills required to be able to enter research publications data.

If a user is  required to query the data and run reports it is recommended that they attend Business Intelligence Service training.

Note: Business Intelligence Service Training is not administered by the Staff Development Unit

Intended Outcomes

  • experience using ResearchMaster's (RM) RMENET Research Outputs (Publications) web application
  • familiarity with the above application's user interface
  • to be able to obtain simple reports within the RMENET Research Outputs environment
  • to be able to select the appropriate publication category for data entry
  • competency in entering the required data into the various screens and fields of the RMENET Research Outputs application

Course Content

On completion of this workshop participants will:

  • have experience using ResearchMaster's RMENET Research Outputs (Publications) web application
  • be able to run simple reports, within the constraints of a user's access permissions
  • be able to select the appropriate publications category for data entry
  • have experience entering a publications record into ResearchMaster's RMENET Research Outputs (Publications) web application
  • have current knowledge of the data entry rules outlined in the data entry style guide released jointly by Monash Research Office and ERA Team

  • Hands-on workshop
  • Practice exercises (NB: Please bring along at least one publications record for data entry practice - a "C1" category publication if possible)
