Aims of the Program
The principal aims of the Monash Fellowships Program are to:
-
attract internationally competitive researchers, including outstanding young overseas researchers
-
provide the best possible research environment in which to undertake research of national andinternational significance
-
support and provide, access to first-class research infrastructure
-
develop and sustain national and international collaborations
HOW TO APPLY: Step by step instructions
1. Obtain a copy of the Guidelines and Forms:

3. Contact the Head of Department/School/Centre
Applicants should contact the Head of the Department/School/Centre in which they propose to undertake research, PRIOR to submitting the application, to discuss the proposed project and obtain a list of the research priorities for the proposed faculty.

4. Complete the Monash Research Office coversheet
The completed Monash Research Office cover sheet (pdf) must accompany your application when it is submitted to the Monash Research Office.
5. Completing the Application
The complete application is due on Friday 31 July 2009. It should include:
- The application form (original + 4 copies) - Additional 16 page proposal (original + 4 copies) - Current curriculum vitae (CV) (original + 4 copies) - Monash Research Office coversheet (original)

6. Referee reports
Three referee reports (using the proforma) are due on Tuesday 4 August 2009.
- One from a current post-doctoral/line management supervisor, or the most recent supervisor since the applicant has gained his/her PhD - Two from eminent scholars who are internationally recognised experts in the discipline.
The applicant is responsible for sending the partially completed referee report forms to their referees (along with the application and guidelines). The referees are responsible for sending the referee reports directly to the Monash Research Office. Refer to address details above.
7. Head of Department/School/Centre Report
The Head of Department/School/Centre Report form (using the proforma) is due on Tuesday 4 August 2009. The applicant is responsible for sending the partially completed Head of Department/School/Centre Report form to the Head of the Department/School/Centre (along with the application and guidelines). The Head of the Department/School/Centre is responsible for sending the signed report directly to the Monash Research Office. Refer to address details above.
