Monash Library Fellowships
The Library Fellowships' goal is to facilitate access to the Library's special collections by providing A$10,000 in funding for visiting researchers working on projects related to the collections. Applications are being invited from researchers, academic staff, postgraduate students and independent scholars from outside the Monash community. Applications close 5PM, Friday 25 May 2012.
While the scheme is not open to Monash staff, we hope that publicisisng it to the Monash community might provide an opportunity for Monash researchers to facilitate colleagues and collaborators to be able to come and spend some time here.

Gender Equity Grants – Gender Equity Travel Support Grant
The Equal Opportunity for Women Committee is pleased to announce that applications are now being sought for the following grant program aimed at supporting the career progression of female academic staff with significant carer responsibilities. The grant forms part of the University's Gender Equity Strategy 2011–2015 and highlights Monash's commitment to improving the representation of women in senior academic roles.
The Gender Equity Travel Support Grants are intended to enable eligible female academic staff (Levels A to E) with primary carer responsibilities at Monash University to enhance their research careers. Financial assistance will be provided to successful applicants so that they can attend and participate in prestigious national and/or international conferences associated with and essential to their research programs.
Grants are available for extraordinary carer support costs to the maximum of: 1. $1,000 for conference attendance in Victoria or interstate. 2. $2,500 for conference attendance overseas. Vice–Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Innovation and External Collaboration 2012
In order to recognise, reward and encourage excellence in innovation and external collaboration at Monash University, the Vice–Chancellor is pleased to call for nominations for the 2012 Monash University Vice–Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Innovation and External Collaboration. The Award will recognise excellence by researchers who are progressing or extending the outreach of their research through engaging with external partner organisations.
Each award is comprised of a medallion and a $10,000 grant to be used at the discretion of the award winner to further his or her research interests (see Terms of the Award in the linked document).
Normally one award is made each year. An award will only be made in any year if there is at least one application of sufficient merit.

Vice–Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Research by Early Career Researchers 2012
In order to recognise, reward and encourage excellent early career researchers (ECR) at Monash University, the Vice–Chancellor is pleased to introduce the Monash University Vice–Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Research by Early Career Researchers. The Award will recognise research excellence by early career researchers who are within ten years of the start of their research careers when they submit their applications.
Each award will consist of a medallion and a grant of $10,000 to be used at the discretion of the award winner to further his or her research interests (see Terms of the Award).
Normally one award is made each year. An award will only be made in any year if there is at least one application of sufficient merit.

National Competitive Fellowships Incubator Program
As part of Monash's exciting new Research Strategy, the Deputy Vice–Chancellor (Research) and the Monash Research Office are committed to maintaining and improving our research environment. One important aspect of this is to provide the highest quality assistance, and the best chance of success, to support Monash researchers in developing applications for nationally competitive grants.
April marks the official launch of the National Competitive Fellowship Incubator Program at Monash – a program which was successfully piloted in 2011.
This innovative program provides a structured way of supporting Monash researchers with their applications for the following major ARC/NHMRC schemes:
- ARC Discovery Outstanding Researcher Awards (DORAs)
- ARC Future Fellowships
- NHMRC Research Fellowships
- NHMRC Practitioner Fellowships
- Other (Australian Laureate Fellowship)
Tailored support provided for researchers includes coordination of expert review, budget planning, grant writing and editing support.

- Provide a brief outline of your planned fellowship proposal and CV (inclusive of puclication and grant record) for approval by your Faculty ADR (Associate Dean of Research or equivalent).
- Applications should be submitted as a single PDF to Magdaline Koutsaplis (Magdaline.Koutsaplis@monash.edu) by the appropriate deadline.
