Research involving human stem cells

You must obtain approval from MUHREC if you want to:

1. Use an existing human embryonic stem cell line; or
2. Derive new non embryonic human stem cell lines; or
3. Use an existing non embryonic human stem cell line.

Please note: If you intend to derive new human embryonic stem cell lines, you must obtain a licence from the NHMRC for the use of human embryos. Please contact the Manager, Research Ethics and Compliance for further information.
