What we do (Monash Research Office)

The Monash Research Office provides services to support the management and development of the University's research efforts by:

• identifying, pursuing and attracting research funding through the provision of advice on, and assistance with postdoctoral grant, fellowship and award applications;
• the administration of postdoctoral grants, fellowships and awards;
• administration of animal ethics, gene technology, quarantine, human ethics;
• administration and support for ResearchMaster (RM), the University research information administration system;
• collection and dissemination of statistical data relating to research, including research publications collection and benchmarking and;
• administering Monash access to Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) Confidentialised Unit Record Files (CURFs)

The mission of the MRO is to facilitate, through strategic action and advice, the expansion and diversification of external research funding and to provide effective grant administration.
The Monash Research Office acts as the principal point of contact between grant applicants, grantees and funding agencies. All research grant applications to external funding bodies, national and international, and related successful grant administration matters are dealt with by the Office.
