Business Intelligence Service (BIS)Business Intelligence: Wikipedia definition DescriptionMonash University's Business Intelligence (BI) implementation is used to aid effective management and business decisions. Data is gathered from a range of different organisational sources (at Monash, sources include SAP for finance and HR information, Callista for student data - and ResearchMaster for research outputs such as grants and publications). The BI application may be used to present the data in a consolidated format which can then offer a more accurate view of organisational performance, facilitating more effective business decisions for current and future business practices. Stage one release encompasses research outputs data. The training powerpoint demonstration (below) lists the projected timeframes for release of other Monash enterprise portfolios. Direct Links to Monash BIS and ResourcesAccess to BIS from outside the Monash Network (e.g. from home or wireless connection) requires VPN software and a valid Digital Certificate. Digital Certificates must be applied for through an authorised staff member. Instructions on how to obtain a personal digital certificate available here. It is recommended that users seek the assistance of their Technical Support staff to install the VPN software and Digital Certificate.
