ARC Linkage Projects

New for 2012: In November 2011, the ARC announced a new Industrial Transformation Research Program under the Linkage Program. Details of the the program will be available in late April 2012. For details visit the relevant Monash page, or ARC page

Following from this, there will be only one 'standard' round of Linkage Projects in 2012, with applications opening in September 2012, closing November 2012.

ARC Linkage Projects support collaborative research and development projects between higher education researchers and a Partner Organisation from outside the higher education sector. The Partner Organisation must make a significant contribution in cash and/or in kind, to the project that is equal to, or greater than, the ARC funding.

Please Note: Faculties will have earlier closing dates than those listed. Consult with your relevant faculty regarding their requirements.

 

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Discuss all aspects of the Proposal with your prospective Partner Organisation/s including the requirement to enter into a Research Agreement if the Proposal is successul.

Required Monash Research Office (MRO) Documents

  • Certification proforma (doc 50kb)- signed by ALL named participants and their Head of Department (CI/APDI), or Employer (PIs)

  • MRO Cover Sheet - signed by the Head of Department and the Associate Dean Research

  • Obtain ALL required signatures and submit one copy of the above documents to the MRO at the time you submit your draft application

  • NOTE: Signed copies of the the ARC certification form and the MRO Coversheet must be received by the MRO prior to submission of your proposal to the ARC

Special Requests

  • Eligibility Exemption Request – considered only under the following circumstances:

    • Type 1 - when the APDI Fellowship candidate does not meet the eligibility criteria (rtf 535kb)

    • Type 2 - when the Partner Organisation does not meet the Minimum Cash Contribution requirement (pdf 42kb)

  • Request Not to Assess (rtf 302kb) – for the exclusion of particular individuals as assessors of your Proposal (due 17 November 2010)

Submit the draft application in RMS

  • Review all components to ensure the information is complete.

  • Work through each page of the RMS form and click 'save and continue' to update all fields - you must do this BEFORE you generate the PDF.

    • Caution: A green tick does not always mean the section is complete!

  • Generate a PDF of the whole document.

  • Submit to the MRO by clicking on 'Submit Proposal to Research Office'

  • Notify the MRO by email (please include Project ID in Subject Heading) that your application is ready for review. Attach a fully signed scanned copy of the MRO coversheet.  The MRO will review your draft application and provide feedback

IMPORTANT: Draft submission is now electronic only. No need to submit a hard copy of your draft to the Monash Research Office. But your faculty may have different requirements, so please check with your Faculty Administrating Officer

   

Final Submission in RMS

  • Please address the issues you received from the MRO, save the application and submit the final version in RMS, by clicking the 'Submit to Research Proposal to Research Office' button. Please Note: Final submission is electronic ONLY

  • Notify the MRO by email (please include Project ID in Subject Heading) when you have submitted your FINAL application

  • The MRO will perform a brief final check of your proposal (for ommissions) and will submit the final application to the ARC on your behalf by the closing date
