ARC Linkage Infrastructure Equipment and Facilities (LIEF) for funding commencing in 2013
The Linkage Infrastructure, Equipment and Facilities scheme fosters collaboration through its support of the cooperative use of national and international research facilities. The scheme provides funding for large-scale cooperative initiatives so that expensive infrastructure, equipment and facilities can be shared by researchers in partnered organisations.
The Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research and Research Infrastructure) in collaboration with the Monash Research Office is putting a strategy in place to increase Victoria's and specifically Monash's competitiveness and success rate in ARC LIEF grant applications for funding in 2013.
The Monash Research Office and the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research and Research Infrastructure) will provide assistance where needed to ensure that any requests are in line with broad University strategy and research directions. This may include:
Facilitating early engagement of collaborators and faculties with other Universities for consolidation and cross-investments.
Utilising internal expertise (experienced and successful researchers) to help improve application content and approach.
Working with the faculties for long-term (5 year) planning and support of infrastructure against current and developing research strengths.
