A New Scheme for Early Career Researchers

This scheme developed from the recent ARC consultation paper to address the competitiveness of early career researchers under the Discovery Projects scheme.

Required Monash Research Office (MRO) Documents
  • Monash Cover sheet - signed by the Head of Department and the Associate Dean Research
  • ARC Certification form (doc 36kb)- signed by DECRA and their HoD/HoS
  • Obtain ALL required signatures and submit one copy of the above documents to the MRO at the time you submit your draft application
  • Career Interruption Certification form (doc 95Kb) - This form only needs to be submitted to the MRO in the instance the DECRA candidate's PhD was awarded on or between 1 March 2004 and 1 March 2007
  • The Career Interruption Certification form must be submitted to the MRO by 7th March 2012
  • D2 Organisational Statement Template (doc 32kb)

IMPORTANT

D2 Organisational Statement

1. Download Template (doc 32kb)

  • Key to your proposal will be the level of support you can garner from your host department. Approach your head of school to arrange a 1-2 page letter of support using the template. 

2. Submission Procedure

  • Submit to Facutly Research Office (check for internal deadlines with the Faculty)
  • Organisational Statements submitted directly to the Monash Research Office will not be accepted
  • The MRO will upload the signed version in RMS before submitting the proposal to the ARC.

First Check

  • Review all components to ensure the information is complete
  • Work through each page of the RMS form and click 'save and continue' to update all fields - you must do this BEFORE you generate the PDF.
  • Caution: A green tick does not always mean a section is complete
  • Generate a PDF of the whole document.
  • Submit to the MRO by clicking on 'Submit Proposal to Research Office'
  • Notify the MRO by email - please include DE13<ID> Application Ready to Review in the subject heading.  The MRO will review your application and provide feedback via email.  The proposal will be desubmitted to allow amendments
  • IMPORTANT: Draft submission is now electronic only. There is no need to submit a hard copy of your draft to the Monash Research Office. Please note, however, that your faculty may have different requirements, so please check with your Faculty Administrating Officer.

Final Check
  • Please address the issues you received from the MRO, save the application and submit the final version in RMS, by clicking the 'Submit to Research Proposal to Research Office' button. Please Note: Final submission is electronic ONLY
  • Notify the MRO by email - please include DE13<ID> Final Ready to Review in the subject heading when you have submitted your FINAL application
  • The MRO will perform a final compliance check of your proposal and communicate the following via email:
    • DE13 Proposal ready to submit - MRO will submit the final application to the ARC on your behalf by the closing date

OR

  •  
    • DE13 Eligibililty concern - Further amendments required - The MRO will submit the proposal to the ARC on your behalf once additional amendments have been made
