Europe Network Seminar
This seminar on research collaboration with Europe featured presentations
by representatives from the European Commission and FEAST (Forum for Europe-Australia
Science and Technology Cooperation), with expert panel input from Monash
researchers involved in European projects.
The seminar:
- Provided an outline of the structure of the European research system;
- Described the current state of collaborative activity;
- Identified the major opportunities for collaboration;
- Discussed Australian support for collaborative research; and
- Presented experiences of Monash researchers.
Schemes covered included: the European Commission's 7th Framework Programme
(FP7), COST, and EU Member state opportunities, along with schemes that
support researcher exchange and mobility.
The seminar was jointly presented by FEAST and the European Commission
in collaboration with the Offices of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International)
and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) at Monash University, and the
Monash European and EU Centre.
