All animal use for research and teaching must be reported in the BAW Return. Animals to be counted - Mammals - 1/2 gestation or older, Birds & Reptiles - 1/2 incubation or older, Amphibians & Fish - capable of independent feeding, Cephalopod & Crustacean (decapods) - adult only.
All specified animals (rats, mice, guinea pigs, rabbits and non-human primates) that have been bred and/or held in 2011 must be reported separately from animals used for research and teaching.
The BAW do not require animal use returns for projects where zero animals were used in 2011. However the Monash AEC Secretariats request that you inform them of approval numbers with zero returns to allow them to confirm that all projects have reported for 2011
The Monash Annual Report Form must be completed and submitted to your AEC Secretary by Friday 17 February 2012 (or deadline set by AEC Secretary). Completed Reports are due within six months of the finish date of the project.
