What to do if Successful:
ARC - Monash and Collaborating Organisations Agreement Forms

The Funding Agreements for ARC Discovery Projects (DP), Linkage Projects (LP) and Linkage Infrastructure Equipment and Facilities(LIEF) state that:

  • A Project must not commence, nor Funding  expended, until Monash University has entered into a written partner agreement with each Collaborating or Partner Organisation...

The agreement must cover the role of the Organisation in the project, including provisions that:

  • outline contributions of the Collaborating/Partner Organisation
  • describe the Intellectual Property arrangementsan undertaking by the organisation to abide by the Funding Agreement
  • outline payment of salaries for ARC Fellows (DP and LP only) 
  • outline payment of stipends and supervision arrangements of APAIs (LP only)
  • an assurance from the Partner Organisation that it's relationship with Monash Unviersity and all Chief Investigators named in Schedule A to perform the Project is in accordance with the Funding Rules (LP only)
  • an indemnity from the Partner Organisation in favour of the Monash University that covers any loss, liability or expense incurred or suffered by Monash University as a result of any breach of this Agreement caused by the Monash University's reliance on the assurance given by the Collaborating Organisation (LP only)
  • outline the location of the infrastructure, equipment or facilities (LIEF only)

For Discovery Projects a Collaborating Organisation means an organisation, other than the Administering Organisation, which is a contributor to a Project.

For Linkage Projects a Partner Organisation means any company, government agency, incorporated body or other industrial collaborator named in Schedule A as a contributor to a Project.

For Linkage Infrastructure Equipment and Facilities (LIEF) a Collaborating Organisation means any Eligible Organisation, other than the Administering Organisation, which is a contributor to a Project: and a Partner Organisation means a any company, government agency, incorporated body or other industrial collaborator named in Schedule A, other than the Administering Organisation and Collaborating Organisations, as a contributor to a Project. For LIEF grants it is necessary to obtain written agreement from all Collaborating Organisations and all Partner Organisations.  

It is the responsibility of the grantee to obtain the relevant signatures from collaborating institutions and forward the agreements to the Monash Research Office (MRO) for signing by Monash University. The grantee should ensure that sufficient copies are created so that each institution will receive a copy of the agreement with original signatures. Once all copies are signed, MRO will forward the additional copies to the relevant organisations.
