About the Centre

Science is a major driver of economic growth and development. Australia and other countries in the Asia Pacific region are leaders in scientific research but fall behind in converting research discoveries into economic wealth.

Creating wealth from science is vitally important in a time when more of our consumption is of 'knowledge based' goods and services. The alternative is a slowing improvement in standards of living or an increasing debt to countries which excel at turning science to wealth.

Our Mission

To provide educational courses related to the transformation of science into wealth to biomedicine, science and business students and to scientists and business people throughout Asia Pacific.
To provide practical training and undertake research into the creation of wealth from science.
To work with Monash scientific researchers, commercialisation professionals and external venture capitalists and business people in applying the Centre’s skills and theory to the practical conversion of Monash scientific research output into wealth.
